A little while ago, I found an old photo of Brenda and me that we took during our last cruise to Ensenada. I thought it would be neat to post a before and after. Can you guess which one is the before and which one is the after. I'll give you a hint... In one I am standing by a piano and in one it looks like I ate the piano. Let's hear your funny comments now. The funniest comment wins something.

You're 6 months old today

Big Boy you're six months old today. Your parents sure do love you.
Following in your dad's footsteps by balancing is a Waite tradition.

Happy Fathers Day to me

If Jesse spelled his name like Jessie this is probably what he/she
would look like.
When Brenda first got pregnant we thought she was gonna have a girl.

Flying High

Here's a video of me doing some barrel rolls. This was so much fun. We did some low passes over some rose fields in Wasco too. It was way better than any roller coaster I've been on. I just wanna say thanks to Jon Olsen for taking me up.

All my favorite songs have the same thing in common.

If anyone can I dentify these four chords I would love to know.  Then I will be able to play all my favorites.

My Favorite App

This post is dedicated to my favorite "legal" app from the app store. As many of you know I watch about 60 hours of TV a week. It's my other job. The pay isn't good but the payoff is priceless. Ask anybody that's played TV/Movie SceneIt with Brenda and me.
I recently switched to DirecTV after DishNetwork notified us that they were raising their rates. Even after they dropped our local American Idol station. Anyway, I love DirecTV especially the ability to set my DVR from my phone. Here's some pics of the process. If any of you already have DirecTV and you don't have this set up yet, you don't know what you're missing.

Step 1:
Get DirecTV
If you don't already have it, you can comment and I'll give you a
code that will give you a Benjamin($100) to switch.

Step 2:
Download the DirecTV App from the AppStore
It's free.

Step 3:
Click on App Icon

Step 4:
Search for your Show or Channel

Step 5:
Choose to record The Episode or The Series

There ya go. I use this app several times a week. Especially when Jenny talks about shows she watches.  If she likes a show it has to be good, right?

Don't you hate it when you want to be entertained and they try to sneak in a commercial on you? I hate that!! The biggest culprits are Idol sponsored by Ford & Coke and Biggest Loser sponsored by 24Hour fitness & Subway. They remind me of the Truman show. Give me a break. If I wanted commercials I would watch you live. ::gag::

BTW
You need to have an internet connection to your DVR. You can either connect it directly or wirelessly. Let me know if you have questions. Enjoy!!

Surgery today.

Brenda's getting ready to roll into surgery and I just realized I
didn't tell you guys what's going on.

Ever since her c-section her voice hasn't worked right. They checked
it out and she developed a growth on her vocal cord from the
intubation. Today they're gonna remove it and hopefully give Brenda
back her voice.

Keep us in your prayers.

Do You Smell That? Yep that's my new car.

Well after much research a few sleepless moments and an "intense" negotiation with the loco-al Hyundai dealer, we made the short drive to Magic Mountain and bought a car from them.  What a difference.  I don't know how the Bako Hyundai dealer stays in business with how poorly they treat their customers.

Before we went to the first dealer, Brenda was so excited to have her first new car buying experience and naievly thought it would be "fun."

We used to watch a reality show on A&E called "King of Cars" that follows a crazy car dealership in Vegas. They make the car buying experience look fun. Brenda was very disappointed. At one point, 4 hours into it, Brenda complained of a headache and said, "Just take me home." It was kind of like a kid who sees their mom pushing a vacuum and thinks it looks like fun. They want to try it. Then after 3 passes they realizes it's work.

Let's just say when it comes to buying cars I put on my "game face." I get like Donald Trump and no deal is good enough until I'm convinced they are losing money by selling the car to me. I know it's ruthless, but it's my money! They can make money off the next guy.

Long story long we ended up driving to Valencia and the buying experience was what Brenda thought the first experience would be like. We did all the negotiating online and a couple phone  calls and when walked into the dealership there; easy breezy and it was a done deal. NICE!!

Needless to say we love our new car and it will serve our growing family well.

Proof I still know where the gym is

Here I am at the gym for the first time since...forever. You know how
when you go back after a long time gone you usually over do it and
usually hurt real bad the next day? I'm not gonna do that.

Jesse Sings Crazy Train

We went to this restaurant and Jesse broke into this song so I grabbed my phone and filmed it. The quality isn't that great and the audio isn't that good but it made me smile.

Make 'em work for their food

Last night we had the missionaries over for dinner. One of the elders is from Japan.  I served my mission in Japan so I thought it would be cool to make Japanese food.  We had them make their own California rolls (Not really Japanese by the way). The Japanese Elder was the best at making the sushi, surprise, surprise. I had never made sushi before but my parents bought me a how to book with supplies, so we did it. It was fun seeing the Elder from UT trying to make this big ol' fat roll that barely closed. Then we ate Japanese Curry for the main course. It was a good time.  The Waite House Sushi Bar is now open for reservations.  But don't get your hopes up it's very exclusive.

Dedicated to our life saver

This post is really late but here it is.
Let me introduce you to our family's favorite person. This is Amie Timpson. She enjoys barefoot walks in the rain, watching snow fall and loves being a mom.
She's been living with us since December and is the one who keeps our house running. She doesn't like the title nanny. That's not good enough anyway. Supernanny is more like it. I call her "authorized user"; it's an inside joke. She's more like the house manager. She's a gourmet chef, super with Jesse and takes such good care of Brenda.
Brenda tells me almost everyday how lucky we are to have her with us. I could go on and on how much we appreciate her but it wouldn't be enough. People who know she's living with us always ask, "so how's it going?" We always say good, but what we really want to say is it's never been better. She has a 5 year old daughter who loves Jesse to death and is such a good helper.
Well anyway, if you bump into her on the street or in the store or online go ahead and thank her for us. If you're on facebook add her as a friend. If you know any prince charmings hook her up. She's single and looking for a good man. Only the engagement has to be long enough for us to find someone to replace her which may be indefinately.
Anyway just had to let you guys know about our bestest friend Amie. Thanks for doing such a good job Amie!

This is a good move

I've been wanting to use this move on Sam (little bro.)  since he moved out and left his room a stinking mess and hasn't kept in touch with anybody but I'll leave it to the professionals.

Darn That Groundhog I think We Should Call Him What He Really is...a Woodchuck!

Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news but...
Phil Says "Six More Weeks of Winter!"

Phil's official forecast as read February 2nd, 2009 at sunrise at Gobbler's Knob:

Hear Ye Hear Ye
On Gobbler's Knob this glorious Groundhog Day,
February 2nd, 2009
Punxsutawney Phil, Seer of Seers, Prognosticator of all Prognosticators

Awoke to the call of President Bill Cooper

And greeted his handlers, Ben Hughes and John Griffiths

After casting a joyful eye towards thousands of his faithful followers,

Phil proclaimed that his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers were World Champions one more time

And a bright sky above me

Showed my shadow beside me.

So 6 more weeks of winter it will be.

Cousins meet for the first time

Here is a picture of the cousins meeting for the first time. Parker is 6 weeks older and twice the size of Jesse. Parker is Brenda's brother Chris' first son.

When Brown Can Stick Around

My favorite part of yesterdays whole inaguration festivities was the benediction given by this guy.

Here's the part I liked: "Lord, in the memory of all the saints who from their labors rest, and in the joy of a new beginning, we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around ... when yellow will be mellow ... when the red man can get ahead, man; and when white will embrace what is right. That all those who do justice and love mercy say Amen."

Sounds like a bad song from the 70's or something. When brown can stick around... when yellow will be mellow...when the red man can get ahead, man...

Classic! I think I'm gonna like it here. As long as whitey's always righty.

Jesse's First Photo Shoot

Aunt Lisa came over today with her fancy new camera and gave Jesse his first photo shoot. She took tons of picutres and Jesse was a trooper throughout the whole process. Here is a sample of one. I can't wait to see how the rest turn out. Thanks Lisa!

Happy 14 Year Anniversary

We celebrated our 14th year of being married on the 14th, but we were so busy I didn't get to post an announcement. I just wanna say that I am so luck to be married to Brenda. She is the most unselfish person I know. She literally risked her life to give me the best anniversary present I have ever gotten. Jesse makes our family complete. We are so blessed and love being an item. This is a picture of the day we got engaged which was the day I was released from my mission in Japan. That's Okayama Castle in the background. This year will make 20 years of us being together. It just seems like yesterday when Brenda called me up and asked, "So are we an item?" And we've been an item ever since. I love you Brenda.

Jesse making the international sign for call me

We took our 8 day old baby to the Dr and he had gained almost a whole
pound. He's getting so big. Now he's using gestures to communicate
like this "call me" sign. Usually the thumb goes a little closer to
the ear but he's driving and doesn't want to get in trouble for
talking and driving at the same time.

Mother & Son together again

Brenda is out of the ICU and just met Jesse for the first time. Don't
they look like they were meant for each other. Brenda is doing
awesome. Thanks everyone's for your prayers. We'll post more pics later.
